Cell Groups
Cell Groups
Greetings also to the congregation who meet regularly in their home (Rom 16: 5). The Bible teaches us that a church is made up of people: children of the Lord who love Him and walk in His ways with Him. And these individual believers do not follow the Lord as a unique, isolated individual, no, the Lord places us in groups.
For the first 400 years of the church’s existence, there was no such thing as a church building. Church was a group of believers who gathered in each other’s homes, as Romans 16 verse 5 explains. They knew each other well, they knew when someone was getting heavy. They were even willing to provide each other with food, and help each other in all sorts of physical ways through thick and thin.
In today’s modern life, where we often do not even know our neighbor, and life has become very impersonal, church is the place where you meet people who, like you, believe, with wonderful values and attitudes. People who care enough to help carry your burdens and be on a journey of faith with you. And the best place to experience this caring and compassion in the church is in cell groups.
A cell group consists of 4-6 families that meet weekly [with Covid we are currently doing this virtually]. This group share their lives, pray for each other and study God’s Word together. They affect the people who come to visit you in the hospital, who pray for you when you change jobs and with whom you share your spiritual experiences.
If you want to know more, or are ready to become part of a cell group, please send an e-mail to groepe@constantiakruin.co.za and we will help you get home in a cell group.
